Konrad Laimer Extends Bayern Munich Contract Until 2029
FC Bayern Munich has officially announced a two-year contract extension for Konrad Laimer. Negotiations for the Austrian international's new deal were lengthy, reportedly due to significant salary expectations from the player.
FCB Honorary President Uli Hoeneß had previously commented on the situation, suggesting in a DAZN interview that Laimer's demands were "Maradona-like." While it's not confirmed if Laimer's exact salary demands were met, the fact that a deal was rumored to be close over a month ago indicates a compromise was reached.
Given Laimer's versatility and his impressive performance statistics last year – including three goals and 13 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions – it is highly probable that the World Cup participant received a substantial pay increase.
Sky Germany reports that Laimer's annual salary is expected to be around €10 million, including bonuses.
Statements on Konrad Laimer’s Extension
"We are delighted that Konny will continue his journey with FC Bayern," stated Max Eberl, Bayern's Board Member for Sport. "He truly embodies reliability at the highest level, and with his skills and character, he is a vital component of the team. He's a player who inspires and motivates others daily."
FCB sporting director Christoph Freund added, "We greatly value Konny’s versatility, passion, and consistency. He consistently delivers on his qualities, season after season, game after game. He serves as a role model because he never gives up on a ball, is constantly improving, and is also a key figure in the locker room."
The player himself expressed his enthusiasm: "It is something very special for me to take the field in the FC Bayern jersey. I have often emphasized how happy I am in Munich and that it is a lot of fun to play football on this team. I can help the team in many different positions and want to continue giving my all for FC Bayern every single second. With this team, anything is possible, and I am already looking forward to the season starting again."
