AS Roma defender Gianluca Mancini has acquired a distinctive bicycle, drawing inspiration from the Dutch cycling star Mathieu van der Poel. Van der Poel, a renowned competitor in major classic races, has secured two Milano-Sanremo titles and three Paris-Roubaix victories.

Mancini shared that his chosen bike incorporates elements reminiscent of AS Roma's colors. "I picked one with colors similar to Roma’s," he stated in a recent Eurosport interview. The Italian international recounted his early cycling experiences, noting his initial preference for owning his own bike over rentals. He started with an older, "gate" model, as friends called it, which had a manual gear shift.

This changed as he observed others easily navigating with automatic gears. "I saw everyone else changing gears easily with the automatic system and thought, 'Why do I have to do it this way?' So, I changed it later," Mancini explained. He opted for Mathieu van der Poel's Canyon model, specifically its distinctive color scheme that echoes Roma's signature yellow and red.
